About Us
I'm Leah. I grew up in Mobile and spent the better part of my career working in and around politics in Montgomery, AL before making the move to Fairhope and finally doing the thing I'd always wanted to do — open a shop of my own. It turned out to be the best decision I've ever made.
Why "Chatsworth"
Before the boutique, I sold English antiques as Chatsworth Antiques at Round Top and Scott Antique Market. The name comes from Chatsworth House, the English estate that was Mr. Darcy's home in the film Pride and Prejudice. When I opened the shop on the corner of Fairhope Avenue in 2024, the name came with me. It felt stately and timeless, and it says this is a store for everyone who walks in, men included.
What you'll find
Chatsworth carries timeless women's and men's fashion, home, a few pieces of antique furniture and gifts, and I take real pride in everything we bring through the door. Whether you need a dress for a special occasion, a gift for someone you love, or something for the four-legged member of the family, I'm here to help you find exactly the right thing.
A few things set us apart:
- Classic pieces, not trends. I buy for real life: weddings, showers, work events, family photos, game days, and a Saturday on the bay. My favorite pieces are the ones you'll still love in three years.
- A real men's department. Downtown Fairhope has plenty of women's boutiques, but we wanted to include the guys. Our shop has button-downs, polos, quarter-zips, pants, belts, and the socks he forgot to pack. Things that are casual enough for the day and will transition him to dinner.
- A mix of price points. Women's blouses and denim that are less than $100 sit right alongside investment pieces for the bigger moments, so you can shop the whole store.
- English antiques. Antique chests, French chairs, and blue-and-white chinoiserie fill the store. Some are for sale, and all of them set the mood.
Honest styling
I'll help you find the right fit, show you what to wear it with, and suggest an alteration when it would make all the difference. And if something isn't right for you, I'll tell you. I'd rather you love what you take home than buy something you'll regret.
Come say hello
Come say hello. I'm usually here, and so is Darcy — my silver Labrador, who considers herself co-owner. Fair warning: she will expect attention.
I also have strong opinions about where to eat and drink in Fairhope, so if you need a recommendation, don't be shy.
